I met up with Renay, Russell, Emma, Baby Megan and their awesome grannies and grandpa yesterday to capture their family photos. The afternoon was just lovely, with perfect light and lots of laughs. Renay is a super mom – juggling a full time job, two kids and even bringing half of Woolies along as snacks! I loved capturing Megans infectious smile and chasing Emma through the long grass as she ran around exploring. Thanks for a fun shoot Tandy Family – here’s your sneak peek! Continue reading
One of the things I love most about working in Joburg over December – apart from no traffic and relatively empty shopping malls – is being around to capture families as their loved ones flock home for the holidays. The late summer sunsets also allow me to head from the office to a shoot and get photos in the most perfect light. Yesterday was just one of those afternoons that I wanted to bottle up – Gayl contacted me to shoot at a naming ceremony for 4 of the kids in her extended family – Jack, Keanan, Kaden and Kian. It was such a special ceremony where i got to witness the entire family stepping up to commit and promise lifelong support of each others children – really too special for words. Afterwards they picnicked on the lawns and the kids ran around and played… and smiled beautifully for the camera! You’ve got to love a bit of cupcake bribery 🙂 Continue reading
I have totally lucked out with the families I got to meet and shoot in 2016 – and the Rehrl family was no exception. We met up at the Irene Dairy Farm and even though it was drizzling and grey and FULL of mud the shoot was such fun. Wendy and Louis are just awesome and their kids Nate and Layla are possibly the most photo-loving and happy children I have ever met. Thank you for such a fun afternoon and for making this so easy for me – it was awesome to meet you all 🙂 Continue reading
The only way to describe the first birthday of twins Kenzy and Skyla is ‘A ray…make that TWO rays of sunshine’. The venue was just gorgeous, the decor absolutely amazing and the vibe was such fun. Clair is the most bubbly, vivacious and outgoing person I have ever met and she made me feel like a guest the entire day. I even left with a huge box of sweets which I may or may not have eaten before I even got home. Skyla and Kenzy are the most precious little girls and adored by everyone. I loved their matching outfits, sparkly gold shoes and calm beautiful souls. Congratulations Claire and Steve, this was the most perfect celebration! Continue reading
Little Cameron is in Carters class at school and I was so excited when her mom Gill booked me for a shoot. She is the sweetest, quirkiest and most adventurous little girl and we had the best fun racing around as she explored the open veld and stopped to take in all the sights and smells. Thanks for a fun afternoon Gillian and Byron! Continue reading
I was contacted by Alison to take photos of their newborn Jack at their home in Bryanston. Alison and I went to high school together but haven’t seen each other in years (apart from one sweaty moment when we gave each other an exhausted wave somewhere during the 21km run at a Half Iron Man race a few years ago). It was so nice to see her again and meet her beautiful little boy! Turns out Alison is married to Grant who is the son of my mom’s very good friend, Gail. Very small world!
10 day old Jack was such a sweet and content baby, who slept through most of the action! Continue reading
I just loved capturing this family shoot – Henri and Jen were so relaxed, little Owen too beautiful for words, and 2-year-old Isabel stole the show with her cheeky nature and gorgeous blue eyes. Continue reading
