I met up with an old friend Nestor, his gorgeous expecting wife Tamlin and their beautiful 2.5 year old Jason this morning, to take some family maternity photos before they welcome their little girl into the world in March. I loved, loved this shoot. Delta Park never fails to disappoint and the light was just so soft and romantic against Tams gorgeous belly. It was also wonderful to catch up with Nestor and Tam and discuss plans for the newborn shoot next month. Jason had the best fun looking for dragons and showing me all the animals in his book. He even helped take some pics 😉 I love all the photos from this session, and am so excited to share this beautiful family with you! Enjoy your sneak peek!
Shana, her hubby and most beautiful daughter Ari are out from Spain visiting family, and wanted a big group photoshoot to celebrate everyone being together again. We met up last month and it was so lovely to be in a new venue and to watch little Ari run around in the long grass. Apparently there are no creepy crawlies in Spain (lucky!) so she wasn’t at all bothered by all the new bugs and insects in her path. So nice to meet you all, enjoy your pics! Continue reading
I met up with Renay, Russell, Emma, Baby Megan and their awesome grannies and grandpa yesterday to capture their family photos. The afternoon was just lovely, with perfect light and lots of laughs. Renay is a super mom – juggling a full time job, two kids and even bringing half of Woolies along as snacks! I loved capturing Megans infectious smile and chasing Emma through the long grass as she ran around exploring. Thanks for a fun shoot Tandy Family – here’s your sneak peek! Continue reading
One of the things I love most about working in Joburg over December – apart from no traffic and relatively empty shopping malls – is being around to capture families as their loved ones flock home for the holidays. The late summer sunsets also allow me to head from the office to a shoot and get photos in the most perfect light. Yesterday was just one of those afternoons that I wanted to bottle up – Gayl contacted me to shoot at a naming ceremony for 4 of the kids in her extended family – Jack, Keanan, Kaden and Kian. It was such a special ceremony where i got to witness the entire family stepping up to commit and promise lifelong support of each others children – really too special for words. Afterwards they picnicked on the lawns and the kids ran around and played… and smiled beautifully for the camera! You’ve got to love a bit of cupcake bribery 🙂 Continue reading
I have totally lucked out with the families I got to meet and shoot in 2016 – and the Rehrl family was no exception. We met up at the Irene Dairy Farm and even though it was drizzling and grey and FULL of mud the shoot was such fun. Wendy and Louis are just awesome and their kids Nate and Layla are possibly the most photo-loving and happy children I have ever met. Thank you for such a fun afternoon and for making this so easy for me – it was awesome to meet you all 🙂 Continue reading
When Bernardine approached me to take some family photos, I was really honoured. She’s a wonderful mom of 3 and just one of the kindest, sweetest people I know. Her kids go to my sons school and I’ve always marvelled at how amazing she always looks – even with an entire children troupe in tow! I met up with them this morning, and despite the windy weather and a not so photo-keen Koltt we had such a lovely morning snapping some pics in thier Estate. I loved Kades cheeky grin and Dantes soft beautiful nature – she really stole the show! Thanks Bernadine, Kevin and kids!
My first shoot of the year was a picture perfect family affair. Megan asked me to take some photos of her and her extended family before a few of them emigrated overseas. They all looked great, the champagne was flowing, the three boys were just perfection and I even managed to crack a grin or two from a few reluctant dads. 🙂 Good luck with your new venture guys, and thanks for the fun afternoon! You can’t actually get more cute than this – 8 gorgeous moms and their little Christmas elves. This was probably the most fun shoot I have ever done – look how sweet these little Festive delights are. Thanks for the fun and bubbly, ladies. Continue reading
